Ideas:
I wanted to show the perspective of how a bee sees the world through ultraviolet light and how pollen/pollination is kind of their whole world. The Earth at the center of the flower also represents how our world depends on bees and pollinators to provide food for us and keep us alive.

Materials:
Graphite pencils to sketch out the image
Colored pencils to depict the color of ultraviolet light
White gel pen to add interesting highlights and to show the pollen, making it look like it is glowing like in UV photography.

Process:
Create a flower using UV photography to show the way bees view the world.

Ideas: My goal was to show the reality of life without pollinators, specifically bees. Hand pollination has to be used in certain scenarios, even today where bees have become extinct. I want to spread awareness about this labor intensive and complicated work when bees cannot pollinate through artwork.
Materials:
Graphite pencils to create contrast from the pollen in colored pencil
Tanned multimedia paper
Colored pencils to make the pollen stand out and the focus of the image

Processes: I wanted to create an image of hand pollination to show what people have to do without bees and other pollinators. I used graphite to show depth and value as well as make it contrast with the yellow pollen. I used yellow colored pencil to make the pollen stand out from the rest of the piece.
